Hi-tech - Low-tech Ways to Focus on What You Want

Hi-tech - Low-tech Ways to Focus on What You Want
by Kathy Atkinson

The other day my daughter was showing me all the features on her new cell phone. It is absolutely amazing what you can do with that small object. She can take pictures, wake herself up with an alarm, calculate the waiters tip and even make phone calls.

That experience, and some others I have had recently, got me to thinking about how we can activate the Law of Attraction to bring us what we want by taking advantage the new technology we have available. Below are some hi-tech suggestions for Affirmations, Vision Boards and for expressing Gratitude and Appreciation. I have also included low-tech suggestions for those who may be techno-challenged.

Affirmations

Affirmations are a great way to stay focused on what you want to manifest in your life.

Hi-tech suggestions:

My daughter's cell phone has the capability of recording a message, so if your phone has the same technology, I thought it would be a great idea to record your affirmations or inspirations. Then set the alarm to go off every hour, so you can listen to your affirmations throughout the day. One great way to stay focused on what you want.

Most newer computers have microphones included, so you can record your affirmations right on the computer. You can listen to them on the computer or burn them to a CD and play them in the car or CD player.

Low-tech suggestion:

The low-tech way would be to write out your affirmations on 3x5 cards, set your oven timer to go off every hour and read your affirmations aloud throughout the day.

Vision Boards

If you prefer pictures to help keep you focused on what you want, vision boards are a fun activity that the whole family can get involved with.

Hi-tech suggestion:

This hi-tech idea came from teleclass participant, Tecca Thompson. She is the author of S.E.E.D: Successfully Empower Each Dad and The Responsible Young Fathers Program: Parenting Classes for Young Incarcerated Fathers. Tecca sent me a copy her "Vision-Board" Power Point presentation. It is an awesome 36 slide presentation that includes pictures and affirmations. It is very cool.

The time and attention giving to this kind of project has to amplify the Law of Attraction big time. Tecca added pictures of the experiences she wants to have, pictures of places she wants to visit, a picture of the puppy she would like and she even has a bank statement in her name with the amount of money she wants to have.

You can run a power point presentation as a slide show and view it every morning and evening or better yet, set your phone alarm to remind you to view it every hour. This is another great way to take advantage of the technology that we have at our disposal.

Low-tech suggestion:

As great as that idea is, you can still create a vision board the old fashion way. Get a poster board, some catalogs and colored markers, and create a collage of all the experiences you want to attract and manifest.

Gratitude & Appreciation

Everyone enjoys being recognized and appreciated for the small things. Taking the time to acknowledge and appreciate others sets you up to experience even more positive experiences. Commit to incorporating one of the following suggestions everyday.

Hi-tech suggestions:

Have you seen the TV commercial with the family sitting around the dinner table text messaging each other? Looks silly and I am surprised at how popular that activity is. My thought is, "why not just call?".

If you are into text messaging, why not send messages of gratitude and appreciation. Catch someone in the act of doing something nice or helpful. This is especially useful if you have kids and want to stay in touch with them in a positive and uplifting way.

If you have an answering machine, most have a way to record a message. Look for the memo button and record your message of appreciation for someone to "discover" when he or she arrives home.

Low-tech suggestions:

Post a calendar on the refrigerator and commit to writing down daily what you love, appreciate or admire about the people in your family. It is a fun activity to get the whole family involved in.

Use post-it-notes and place "gratitude notes" where your loved one will find it...on their pillow, in their wallet or purse, on the steering wheel, etc.

Action Challenge

Focused attention activates the Law of Attraction in your favor. Choose the hi-tech or low-tech ideas that get you excited.

Get the entire family involved and have fun seeing who can come up with the most creative way to stay focused on what they want to manifest.

Quotes

"It is the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen." Claude M. Bristol

"Nothing happens unless first we dream." Carl Sandburg

"Appreciation can make a day, even change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary." Margaret Cousins

Affirmations

Today I will have fun affirming my deepest desires.
Today I will visualize my ideal life.
Today I will acknowledge and appreciate everyone in my life.
